What is “Green Building”?

Green building is a deliberate approach of designing and constructing buildings that are integrated into the wider site and community, consume less energy and water, are durable and easier to maintain, use resource efficient techniques and materials, and are healthier, safer, and more comfortable.

Why does green building matter?

These mandatory measures combined with the home owners desired selections are evaluated based on a consistent and recognized point based system. By utilizing the Green Point Rated system you will differentiate your home from others and highlight your green building features through a recognized consumer label.

Are there any certifications for GreenPoint Raters?
Yes. A Green Point Rater must be certified through Build It Green, be a Certified Green Building Professional, and have industry experience.
